This sculpture has two distinct, but related, parts. The larger, in the form of a portal or door, cradles between its two upper 'arms', the large stone of the title. Paradoxically this 'door' denies entry physically. Yet, it invites entry to both the eye and the mind. The second smaller part of the work, in constrast, functions as the physically interactive element of the sculpture where a small curved seat, the viewer's 'throne', is situated a short distance away. From here the viewer can contemplate the work within the framework of the surrounding natural environment.
